Has anybody heard (read) about the attempt by the New Zealand police to revise their laws and regulations through a Wiki?
I just read a piece in a Spanish newspaper and I was wondering if there is an English version to share with this group. If you are interested I can give you the Spanish-language reference.
What would happen if the faculty were to propose a revision to the administrative structure of the school using a Wiki? How about designing a protocol for the curriculum review through a Wiki?

Are you suggested that nothing done via wiki would ever come to resolution? Or am I missing something?
Certainly, in the administrative structure, information technology would be an excellent candidate for discussion of a revision with the current administrative structure. IT currently report to both the Provost and the Vice President for Business and Finance.
EDUCAUSE maintains what they call the Core Data Survey of institutions of higher ed. Of the 952 reporting institutions, 104 are classified as private, baccalaureate, liberal arts colleges (like Illinois Wesleyan) Of those 104 institutions, only Skidmore College has a joint reporting structure for IT similar to Illinois Wesleyan's.
Seems to me in this situation a wiki could be a helpful tool. I can envision how it might provide an opportunity for improved communication, teaching, and learning.
There may not be resolution, but I believe the discussion process could provide some valuable insight that could be helpful toward reaching a decision.
And since we're talking about discussion, we may be heading to the blog-versus-wiki choice for a particular pedagogy. For thes two particular topics you've chosen, a good argument could be made that a blog would need to at least accompany the wiki as a vehicle for further discussion and debate.

I think the New Zealand story is fascinating.
It actually might not be a bad idea to attempt to work on administrative structure via wiki. The discussion via blog would be helpful, but I'm having a hard time envisioning how the two would be truly integrated. Hey, what do we have to lose?!
